Breakthrough Ministry Grant Applications Due

Do you have an idea for a new ministry? Maybe you want to expand an existing ministry. Apply for a Breakthrough Ministry Grant for some funding to help you get started. Applications are due April 30.

Grants are awarded quarterly to assist churches or related organizations in starting new ministries or expanding existing ministries to reach new people. Applications are due on January 31, April 30, July 31 and October 31.

Here are some requirements:

Ministries must be new (within the last two years) or a current ministry that is expanding to reach new people.
The new or expanding ministry will assist the church in making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

*Kids Count Miracle Offering funds were raised at the 2017 Annual Conference to fund grants to churches or ministries that form or expand an ongoing relationship with a school. Funds for technology grants were raised through an Annual Appeal to be used to assist churches with technology needs.

Partnership Grants from the Dakotas Methodist Foundation and the Dakotas Conference of the United Methodist Church:

Grant requests for technology will be awarded as they relate to new minstry and not for the replacement of current equipment.

Application Deadlines: January 31, April 30, July 31 and October 31.

Granting Dates: - February 15, May 15, August 15, November 15

Funds for Breakthrough Ministry grants are provided through the generosity of United Methodist Churches across the Dakotas who faithfully give through their apportionments, Foundation funds, Endowments and Annual Conference Miracle Offerings. These grants are exclusively for United Methodist Churches and United Methodist-related Ministries in the Dakotas Conference. Projects supported through Breakthrough Ministry grants include outreach ministries, church/school partnerships, young adult/campus ministries, and culture of call.

These projects/ministries should:

Be outward-focused (reach beyond the existing membership of the church)
Create opportunity for relationship-building
Move people closer to a connection with Christ and the Church

*The application must be completed in its entirety and all questions answered. If it is not, the application will not be considered. We will invite you to provide further information and reapply for the next quarter.

Acceptance of awarded funds indicates agreement to submit a follow-up report and photos (for publicity) when funds are used. Reports may be used in Conference promotional materials (printed, electronic, andvideo).
Acceptance indicates understanding that all money will be used directly for the above project and specified purpose. Please save all receipts should a review be requested by grantor.
