Ministry Paths

Rev. Taylor Johson leads worship and song at a conference event.
Each person senses God's call to ministry in a different way. Sometimes during prayer or communion, you may feel a strong urging to take the next step in your faith and discipleship. During a mission trip or at a church retreat, you might sense that God seems to be inviting you to consider ministry as a vocation. Sometimes, however, you may sense that calling while you're in the middle of one of your everyday activities—attending class, at work, or spending time with friends. Perhaps someone said something to you that got you thinking. There are countless ways to live out a calling to ministry - as a layperson or clergy...in a church, the marketplace, or public square...in your community or on the other side of the world.
Below are descriptions of a few of those paths. We encourage you to talk with your pastor, a chaplain, or district superintendent to help you on your journey. We also invite you to contact the Conference office at the Conference Office (email or call 605-990-7791).
