Nine months ago a group of ladies at Rapid Valley United Methodist Church began making sandwiches for distribution to the homeless and those people struggling with putting food on the table. The ministry was started to partner with an RV ministry, which provides a breakfast for anyone that comes by, every Sunday morning. The sandwich ministry is meant to augment the breakfast, with a quick meal which can serve for lunch or a light dinner later in the day.

The sandwich-making experts have become so adept that they can produce 200 sandwiches of ham, turkey, roast beef, or peanut butter, in less than an hour!
The Rapid Valley UMC group participates with the RV ministry twice a month and is currently searching for a local church to partner.
"We would like to find someone in the Rapid City area to partner with us in this activity. We are hoping some other groups would be willing to pick up the alternate two weeks, so that sandwiches can be present every week," writes Caroline Castle, a member of the Rapid Valley UMC group. "It's a fun activity for all, and it's most rewarding to be able to offer the homeless a tasty sandwich on Sunday mornings."
