Kent Millard grew up in Faith, SD. As a child he and members of his family rarely attended church.

Millard's father, an alcoholic, sought treatment and brought the family to worship at the United Methodist Church in Faith. There the family found a warm welcome. "I thank God that there was a church in Faith, SD because had it not been there, I do not know what my life would have been like," said Millard.
At Lake Poinsett Camp, Millard was called to ministry. He currently serves as the President of United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. He served the Dakotas Conference churches of Mitchell First and Sioux Falls First.
"People of the Dakotas Conference have practiced the theme of the church forever--open hearts, open minds, open doors," said Millard.
