The Tyndall United Methodist Church had their annual Soup Kitchen Saturday, Dec. 3, serving the Tyndall community and beyond with various soups, hot dogs, taverns, homemade desserts, and more. This is an annual fundraising event for the church. Many from the church and community attended to enjoy the meal and fellowship with one another.
Members of Tyndall UMC spend several hours planning and preparing for the event. This is a community event for the town with a population of less than 1,000. A lot of people look forward to the chance to gather and enjoy some home cooking.
The money collected is utlized towards various church and community projects. This year's funds will help to pay for a new roof on the church.
Pastor Laurie Kidd, Wagner-Tyndall UMC, said, "The event is a way for the Tyndall UMC to reach out to the community to provide fellowship and food at a decent cost. The members get an opportunity to meet new folks or get to know those they've already met even better. This is one way the community can step inside the doors of the church and know we care!"
