Sympathies to Chang Yi, pastor at Grand Forks Zion UMC, on the recent passing of his father in Korea. Chang recently wrote:
Dear Father,
Born as the #7 in a family that had lost all their family assets during Korean War, you had to live a comparatively less privileged life under a single mother.
Yet, you had made the best given choices over the course of your life; worked hard to support the family and served the country at the time of need as well.
It wasn’t an easy life, but I hope you found the meanings of your own and are satisfied with it.
I can’t be more honored once you said the other day, “I’ve got a great son I don’t deserve.” It surely is to be my confession father. You were a great father I don’t deserve.
Follow the light until it leads you to God’s place. I will find you there once my journey is over here someday.
Thank you for everything you left for me.
I honor you, admire you and respect you father.
See you again!
