It’s not something you see every day outside of a church, but Sunday the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile was parked in one church’s parking lot.
The congregation at Asbury United Methodist Church was raising money for ‘Lunch is Served.’ The Sioux Falls organization makes and gives packed lunches to the working poor. And Sunday, for a monetary donation, church goers and mobile fans, could grab a Oscar Mayer hotdog. Church leaders said it’s a fun way for them to help out the community.
"But I always look at it as, Jesus used a lot of different things to minister people, so it's like we are going to use the wienermobile to minister to Sioux Falls,” said Pastor Kip Roozen.
The church doubled their fundraising goal, raising more than $2,000 for ‘Lunch is Served.’
