In January, a group of folks that represents the Dakotas Strategy Team, the UMC Task Force, Global Methodists, and leaders from specific areas of Conference ministries began meeting to discuss the possibility of what ministries and resources could be shared by these groups in the Dakotas, and how that could be accomplished.
Through prayerful consideration, listening, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, this group, known as the “Round Table” is collaborating to draft a directive resolution to be presented and voted on at Annual Conference 2022 in Bismarck, North Dakota. This piece of legislation will help guide us as we live into this liminal time by establishing a structure to further develop areas of ministry and support services to be shared, such as: Camping, the Foundation, conference resources and support. As soon as the draft legislation is finalized, it will be made available.
We grieve the anticipated split within The United Methodist Church, and want to honor the deep history of our connectionalism, living faithfully as followers of Jesus, serving with grace.
This legislation will be discussed in pre-conference gatherings to be facilitated by Rev. Rebecca Trefz and Jeff Pospisil. Everyone is encouraged to attend one of four pre-conference gatherings for more information and opportunities for more discussion. Get the details.
