2010 Annual Conference

The 2010 Annual Conference of the Dakotas United Methodist Church wrapped up Saturday, June 12 with worship and blessings. With Bishop Deb Kiesey presiding, the attendees were treated to a smooth, efficient conference that routinely found itself ahead of schedule.
Highlights of the 2010 Conference included opening worship and a message delivered by Bishop Kiesey and a celebration of Dakota Wesleyan University's 125th birthday by university president Bob Duffet on Wednesday evening. Thursday saw the introduction of incoming Director of Leadership Development Jodi Cataldo and three enlightening messages by Conference keynote speaker Paul Nickerson including "Role of Pastor and Laity in Growing Congregations", "A Vision of Radical Hospitality." and a message on the importance of Stewardship in the overall mission of the United Methodist Church. Friday morning Bruce Forbes presided over morning worship, and the conference recognized the awesome service of the Jubilee and Retiring Clergy. Then Dwight Meier led the recognition of Kevin and Anita Tulp for their 19 years of service to the Dakotas Conference at Wesley Acres Camp. Bruce Forbes returned Saturday morning to lead worship and plenary sessions continued smoothly until closing worship.
