Come experience powerful worship, rich learning opportunities in workshops and plenary sessions, and fellowship with United Methodists across North and South Dakota.
Information for the business items for the 2019 Dakotas Annual Conference can be found in the 2019 Conference Workbook. The publication includes: organizational resolutions, 2020 Budget Proposal, 2021-2024 Annual Conference Site Proposal, 2020 General and Jurisdictional delegate election information, 2019 nominations list, committee and agency reports.
One of the business items that will be considered at the twenty-sixth session is a proposal for where annual conference will take place 2021-2024. In preparation for the next quadrennium, the sessions committee recommends annual conference locations for the years 2021-2024. At the Annual Conference 2016 it was decided to alternate between two locations Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Bismarck, North Dakota, for the years 2017-2020. Previous to 2017, the practice was to schedule annual conference in a different location each year, according to districts.
In this video, Kay Braun, chair of the Dakotas Conference Session Committee and Rev. Rebecca Trefz, executive director of ministries for the Dakotas Conference explain the proposal. You can view the proposal on page 12 of the Conference Workbook.
Another legislative item that will be considered is the 2020 budget. Dakotas Finance and Administration Director Jeff Pospisil explains the proposed 2020 Conference budget in this video, so delegates can be informed before they arrive at Annual Conference. Please follow along in your Conference Workbook on pages 5-11.
