Conference theme
The theme of this year's annual conference is “Living Generously Unleashing God's Gifts.” We will celebrate the ways in which we are answering God's call to use resources of all kinds to live out the scriptural imperatives to grow in love of God and neighbor, reach new people, and heal a broken world. Voting for reserved delegates for North Central Jurisdictional Conference
We have received notice that two of our clergy reserve delegates and one of our lay reserve delegates are not able to attend the North Central Jurisdictional Conference this July. At Annual Conference next week, we will be voting to fill those vacancies in the delegation.
In order to expedite the process, we will be making a motion to suspend the rules and allow for the voting process to take place in clergy and lay sessions, respectively. The replacement rules can be viewed by clicking here. Please take a moment to review so that you understand the process.
Additionally, we have created the list of clergy who are eligible to be elected, please click here to access the list. IMPORTANT: Clergy—if you are not interested or available to attend the NCJ Conference in Peoria, IL July 13-16 2016, please e-mail Rebecca Trefz ASAP so that your name can be crossed off this list BEFORE clergy session. This will give us the clearest picture of who is eligible AND able to be a reserve delegate.
Any layperson who has been a member of the UMC two years, has been active for four years and is a member of a Dakotas UMC church by the date of the Jurisdictional Conference is eligible to be elected regardless of their age, residence or presence at Annual Conference.
If you have any questions, please contact Rev. Rebecca Trefz, Director of Ministries.
