Dakota Wesleyan University begins classes, encourages students to live out their call
Classes for the 2018-19 academic year are about to begin for students at Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU), your United Methodist University. Students will notice a few changes on campus, a new dorm, a remodeled student center and a new food service.
Dakota Wesleyan University will dedicate its newest residence hall on campus this month with a ribbon cutting for Dakota Hall on Tuesday, August 14.

“For years we have seen a steady uptick in enrollment, and due to this, residence space on campus was consistently a challenge,” said Dr. Diana Goldammer, director of student life. “Having this new, beautiful residence hall on campus is exactly what we needed, and what the students have been asking for.”
Dakota Hall is the newest building on campus, where the first upper-class students moved in as the landscaping was being completed.
Inside, there is a massive mural commemorating the founding of Dakota University in 1885 – the original name of Dakota Wesleyan University and the inspiration for the residence hall’s name, Dakota Hall. Read more here.

Since 1885, Dakota Wesleyan University, a United Methodist University, has been reaching out to people in unique ways. Partnerships have fostered the United Methodist connection and encouraged many students and alumni to live out their call through internships, starting a United Methodist Church, service to the mission field and learning opportunities.
Dakota Hall sits just north of Hughes Hall, on the northwest corner of the DWU campus.
