Plants don’t just grow by themselves. I have several withered shrubs sitting on my porch that will bear witness to that fact! Plants need good soil, sunlight, and water if they are going to grow and blossom and produce fruit.

Christians are the same way. We don’t just flourish on our own. We need the good soil of God’s word, the bright light of God’s love, and the living water of the Holy Spirit to empower us to produce the “fruit” of obedience, joy, peace, mercy, and justice.

This fruit that should be the product of our lives shows the world around us how amazing our God truly is.
