This Sunday we invite you to worship online with North Prairie Parish, serving congregations in Bowbells, Kenmare, and Sherwood, North Dakota, and Fusion UMC in Mitchell, South Dakota. These congregations have unique plans as they consider the way to return to in-person gatherings. North Prarie Parish has an adjusted worship for in-person gathering. Mitchell Fusion is encouraging the formation of small group communities and is offering service grants for small groups.
Here is an invitation from Pastor Veronica Fleming, who serves North Prairie Parish:
Hello friends! Come and worship with us in the North Prairie Parish. The covid-19 pandemic has forced us to think outside the “norm” and adapt new ways to worship and share the gospel. A YouTube channel was created to allow those with access to the internet to worship safely from home. Sermons are mailed out to those who request them or do not have access to the internet. Both will continue indefinitely.
We began in-person worship on June 7th; 8:30 a.m. in Bowbells, 10 a.m. in Kenmare (ReNew), and 12 p.m., noon, in Sherwood. These services are a variation of the full online worship, as in-person we have restrictions for gathering together. Worship areas are sanitized each week and physical distancing guidelines are to be followed. Attendees in-person are encouraged to wear masks. Please contact Pastor Veronica at methodist@srt.com with prayer requests, comments, or for more information. Thanks be to God for all blessings.
Taryn Ragels, serving Fusion UMC, invites you to worship at 10 a.m., CDT, this Sunday:
Fusion Church invites you to join us for worship online on Sunday as we continue with our series, “Ask Us Anything” in which we look at questions submitted by the congregation about life and church. This Sunday a panel of the Fusion teaching team will be looking at the question, “How do we know that God is good? Our online services are on Facebook, at 10 a.m. or on YouTube at 1 p.m.
This summer at Fusion we are staying online only for our Sunday services and are encouraging people who call Fusion home to create a Fusion Community with friends, family, or other Fusionites. These communities have the option to host a "watch party" to watch the service together at any point in the week or to host an "after party” to gather together and discuss the topics talked about during our online service.
Groups are encouraged to think creatively about a way they can serve together this summer and can submit their ideas for funds from Fusion. Our goal is to invest $5,000 into service projects in the local communities over the summer. We also hope to gather once a month for a Sunday evening service to celebrate baptisms and to have our previously postponed confirmation service.
