MINOT – Hope Village’s director Pastor Paul Krueger presented both the Recovery Warehouse and the United Way’s Unmet Needs committee with checks for $63,012.60.
The donation was taken from the proceeds of Hope Village’s “50k in 30 Days” fund-raiser that ran through November. Hope Village had chosen to donate 45 percent of the funds raised in the campaign to each of the two partners.
The remaining 10 percent ($14,002.80) plus developer Kent Busek’s original $25,000 will stay with Hope Village for its day-to-day operations.
The need for assistance in Minot is still great. The City of Minot released a study in mid-November that noted unmet needs following the 2011 Souris River flood still total $1.09 billion.
Contributions may still be mailed to Hope Village, 3705 11th St. SW, Minot ND 58701. Credit card contributions may be made by phone: 701-240-1495.
Even though it’s cold in Minot, Hope Village is still recruiting volunteers. Housing is available at partner churches, and rebuild projects are inside homes.
Hope Village is currently recruiting volunteer teams for the spring and summer rebuilding season. Information can be found at www.hopevillageND.org.
