There are several new things available at your United Methodist camps this summer. Lake Poinsett will soon have a new building ready to replace cabins 2, 3 and 4. The new retreat center will be able to host 80 people. The contractor will be finished within a couple of weeks and volunteers from out of state are headed to Lake Poinsett to put on the finishing touches.
Storm Mountain has a new face in guest services, Sean Binder. Sean is a familiar face to folks in the Dakotas Conference; he has served the camping ministry at Lake Poinsett and Wesley Acres. He has also helped out with the production of Annual Conference. Sean is originally from Spearfish, South Dakota and a member of the United Methodist Church there.
Wesley Acres is hosting a new camp this summer called “Dis-Cycle-ship Camp.” The camp will allow adults to challenge themselves on the open road as well as expanding their faith. The three-day camp will allow people to cycle and grow faith and relationship with others passionate about Jesus Christ and cycling.
