STORM MOUNTAIN RETREAT CENTER, SD: Thirty-five men from five different churches gathered at Storm Mountain Center for a spirit-filled men's retreat.
Groups of men from Grace Piedmont, Newcastle, Pierre First, Rapid City First, and Sioux Falls Sunnycrest United Methodist churches spent a Friday evening and most of Saturday learning and growing together in faith.
The group study was based on Andy Stanley's work called "Your Move". Participants learned about: being honest with ourselves, telling our story as a Christian man, paying attention to the tension found through Spirit's voice, and how to glorify God in all we do.
Those in attendance spent time after each session of the study in small groups talking about the video content and its application to our daily lives.
The retreat also featured several times of worship and a prayer walk. Four groups spread out all over Storm Mountain Camping and Retreat Center to pray for the camp property, staff and for the campers and chaperones who would be there this summer in the cabins, around the fire rings, and engaged in many activities.
Pastor John Britt, a participant and one of the organizers noted, "Being at Storm Mountain, we also enjoyed a lot of great food and some times of fellowship out in God's creation. It was just a super time together!"
If you were unable to make this year's retreat, keep an eye out for information about next year's retreat.
"We would love to have more men and more churches join us for this amazing experience," said Britt.
