On Thursday, January 13, 2022, the South Dakota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota will be hosting the Fifth Annual Interfaith Day at the State Capitol in Pierre for the start of the 2022 Legislative Session. Join with faith leaders for a day at the Capitol as we stand in solidarity and pray for peace for everyone who calls South Dakota home. More information here.

Church receives bomb threat | Bishop Haller offers prayer
Burns United Methodist Church, a historically Black church in DesMoines, Iowa, was threatened by an anonymous phone caller claiming bombs were planted in the building. The church conducted only online services Jan. 9 because of the threat. No bombs were found. Bishop Laurie Haller called for prayer for the congregation and its pastor. Read story and watch video.
