THIS WEEK!

Stewardship & Generosity webinar - This Saturday, September 13
Join us for the first session of our new webinar series! Sheri Meister, Dakotas and Minnesota Foundations' president, and Jim Ducker, Dakotas Conference treasurer, will explore why stewardship and generosity matter—not just as finances, but as a spiritual practice. Through breakouts and reflection, you’ll uncover your church’s “why,” clarify mission and vision, and take first steps toward a strategic plan. With support from the Foundations and grants available for participating churches, this is the starting point for cultivating a culture of faithful generosity. Register here.
Save the dates for future webinars covering a variety of topics related to stewardship and generosity:
October 9th @ 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. (Thursday)
November 8th @ 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Saturday)
December 11th @ 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. (Thursday)

Scripture Circles for Clergy | Beginning Fall 2025
Led by Julie Stoll, Scripture Circles are a communal, Spirit-led way of engaging Scripture that blends ancient rabbinic tradition with Christian faith. Each session begins by listening to the questions and wrestlings of those present, then exploring passages that speak into those themes, asking deep questions, and discovering fresh insights together. It’s scholarly and mystical, practical and pastoral—offering renewal for those longing to hear God speak in community. Whether online or in person, this is Scripture as a living conversation—rooted in the Word, open to the Spirit, and shaped by you.

Scripture Circle days/times:
    Mondays, 10:30 – 12:00 CT, Sept. 15- Nov. 17 (Returning participants)
    Tuesdays, 10:30 – 12:00 CT, Septs 16 – Nov. 18 (Returning participants)

The fee is $230 per ten-week session for returning participants or $130 for first-time participants. Register now!

LUKE-ACTS 2025 - Reflections & Resources

Luke-Acts Reading Luke-Acts banner
In chapter 12, we get a flashback to the resurrection as one of the women in the group comes to share that Peter has been released from prison -- an unexpected miracle -- and she isn't believed. How often do we struggle to believe in God's miracles and works of transformation or deliverance? Additional resources: Video lesson about Acts 12:1-17

RESOURCES

Breakthrough Prayer

God of the open road and the open heart, break through our boundaries. Send us - like Paul, like Lydia, like Timothy - into the world with purpose. Expand our imagination of who belongs in your Church. Teach us to plant seeds of faith wherever we go: in marketplaces, prisons, homes, and hearts. Disrupt what is comfortable. Guide what is unfamiliar. Let our faithfulness be found in the journey, and our joy be made complete in your mission. In Christ’s name. Amen.

ICYMI (In Case You Missed It)

2025 Bishop’s Advent Study - Monday evenings, December 1-22
Plan now to participate in the 2025 Advent Study led by Bishop Lanette. In this study, United Methodists across the Dakotas and Minnesota are invited to read "A Child is Born" by Amy-Jill Levine. The study delves into the narratives of Isaac and Ishmael, Moses, and Samuel to reveal how they foreshadow and enrich the timeless Christmas story. Levine shows readers how Scripture's earlier birth stories anticipate the story of Jesus’s birth and how the birth resonates and gives new meaning to those earlier stories. Transform your Advent season with fresh insights and inspiration from "A Child is Born."
Similar to previous years, discussions will be held via Zoom on Monday evenings, Dec. 1-22. All are welcome! Book or e-books available now. Videos will be available via Amplify later this fall.
