Dakotas Conference outpouring on December 3, 2013, Giving Tuesday included gifts to Haitit Solar Oven Partners $35,672.00, and Tree of Life Ministry $39,758.03 for a total of $75,430. This is an amazing result for one of the United Methodist Church’s smallest conferences! Well done, Dakotas!
Friends of Haiti Solar Ovens Partners (HSOP) in the Dakotas and around the nation gave $35,672.00, earning matching funds of $1,600.00. "HSOP’s supporters responded with amazing generosity and I am humbled and grateful!" said HSOP Director Rick Jost.
United Methodists gave an amazing $6.5 million on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 3. Giving Tuesday, December 3, offered a challenge that Global Ministries would match the first gifts to Advance Projects up to $500,000, doubling those contributions. The Dakotas Conference has two Advance projects: Haiti Solar Oven Partners and Tree of Life in Mission, South Dakota.
So many mission supporters in the US and around the world logged in to give. The half a million dollars designated for matching was reached within minutes!

HSOP Director Rick Jost reminds you that helping hands are needed now at our workshop in Volga, SD and late this spring again in Moffit, ND. We are preparing oven components for another shipment to Haiti. The HSOP 2014 goal 2300 ovens shipped, assembled, trained with and given to Haitian families.
