“I just took one step, then another and another. I just want to reach the next person for Jesus,” said Rev. Adam Weber, lead pastor at Embrace and author of Talking with God.

Weber told laity that he was the least likely person to be a pastor and lead a church. “I was so afraid to let Jesus into my life. When I surrendered to him, things began to happen, not because of me but because of him.”
Attendees received a copy of Weber’s book, Talking with God. The book is a conversation about how to pray and add pray in your life. “It really isn’t anything that is new. It is just thoughts about prayer and what it has meant in my life,” said Weber. “Who would have ever thought I would write a book. It is amazing what God can do when we honor him with our lives. “
During his high school years, Weber had a life changing experience after attending a youth event. He was asked to talk about his experience at church by his pastor, Rev. Roger Spahr, who was serving at Watertown Cornerstone UMC. “He took me aside and told me he thought that I had a special gift. I didn’t know what to think. I thought he was crazy,” Weber stated.
Facing fears of speaking and forming a true relationship with God were steps that led Weber to where he is today, an author and leader of the fastest growing United Methodist Church in the country. “It all happened because I finally realized that it is not about me. It is about trusting in God and giving my life to him.”
Talking with God is Weber’s first book. He describes the process as amazing and overwhelming. “It is hard to believe that it happened. That I wrote a book and that you can find it in Barnes and Noble and other places. I am truly humbled.”
Several people during the question and answer time identified with Weber including his former youth group leader who went with Weber on that life changing trip. “I remember that trip Adam and how it was. I truly believe Adam that you have a gift and that you are doing God’s work.”
