The Dakotas Conference welcomes Kaylynn Schutte as the Finance and Human Resources Assistant. She is eager to contribute her skills and plans to be in the conference office Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Kaylynn is deeply rooted in the community she grew up in, Mitchell, South Dakota. “I have lived in Mitchell all my life. I attended Dakota Wesleyan University, and so did my mom and everyone else in my family,” she said.
After graduating from DWU, she worked as the manager of Cool Beans—previously Caribou Coffee, a coffee shop inside the County Fair grocery store. “I managed several employees, ordered supplies, and made sure that everyone was doing what was needed,” Kaylynn explains.
She also works at DWU Finance in accounts payable. Kaylynn spends three hours, 7:30-10:30 a.m., at DWU, Monday through Friday. She began working at DWU and managing Cool Beans a year ago.
One of the things that she is looking forward is being able to have a job that is in her undergraduate degree in Finance and Business.
“I like to work with numbers. I am happy to be in a position that will put my degree to use,” said Kaylynn.
Kaylynn is a member of Downtown Mitchell First United Methodist Church. “I remember how fun youth group was growing up,” she said.
She lives in an apartment with her golden retriever. Kaylynn’s family breeds and sells golden retrievers.
“Everyone is so nice and has really welcomed me,” said Kaylynn.
