It is the third Sunday of Advent. A time to ponder the joy in the season of preparation. Join Montrose UMC at 9 a.m. to worship God while celebrating this season of anticipating the arrival of Jesus Christ, God made flesh. View on the service on Facebook or YouTube.
An invitation from Rev. Valerie Hummel LaBounty:
Welcome to worship! We are so glad you can join us to worship God while celebrating this season of anticipating the arrival of Jesus Christ, God made flesh. This week, as we continue in our preparations for Christmas Eve, our focus is on John the Baptist. His story will, hopefully, encourage us to think a little about our identity and our purpose as people who wait for and follow Christ. We will also be using music, prayers, and scripture as a way to connect with God and others through our worship.
At Montrose UMC, we have been taking time on Wednesdays to reflect on our relationship with God. On Thanksgiving Eve, Pastor Valerie made cinnamon rolls while discussing topics of thanksgiving and gratitude toward God. Starting in Advent, each Wednesday evening Pastor Seth (Hartford UMC) and Pastor Valerie sit down and talk about the Advent theme of the week. We hope these short videos offer a time of rest and reflection as we intentionally journey through this season together, yet physically distant. In addition to online worship for Christmas Eve, we plan to stand outside the church with the Montrosecommunity at 7p on Christmas Eve to sing Silent Night masked and socially distant.
